Since the late 1970s, many students from Japan have visited Mito Way and the bridge, reflecting the strong connection between Anaheim and its sister city, Mito. Anaheim, known for its thriving tourism industry, saw significant growth following the opening of Disneyland Park by Walt Disney in 1955. This small city has continued to expand and develop over the years.
The Anaheim Shores homes development began in 1977, and by 1978, Anaheim Shores Lake was opened, featuring the Mito Bridge as a tribute to this international relationship. Take a moment to view the photos from the most recent visit from Japanese exchange students, as well as the original 1978 dedication ceremony and the establishment of Mito Way.
